A good friend of mine bought it new in July 1986 from Neil Young Motorcycles in Northampton. He rode it for a couple of years doing about 3500 miles then put it in a shed. Following a series of family tragedies he forgot about this little Honda until the shed fell down about six years ago!
It was in a pretty sad state with ivy growing through it but thankfully most parts were salvageable. It then sat in my garage for another three years while he decided what to do with it. Eventually we agreed on a price and the restoration began! Most of the rubber items were perished so I’ve had to make them but everything else apart from the brake lines and rear shock is original.
It has just clocked 4000 miles, and I even have the original key fob from Neil Young Motorcycles and the Honda paddock stand that it came with. It runs beautifully, a real pleasure to ride.
