Day One: The 19th Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show

We couldn't have hoped for better weather, too, as the sun's come out and the earlier skies which were overcast are now blue.

The Stafford County Showground is set in 70 acres of Staffordshire countryside, easily accessible and a five minute drive from junction 14 of the M6.

We spoke to one couple in the queue, Alan Tomlinson and wife Anne, who had made the 120-mile journey over from Leeds the night before and stayed at a local Lodge. What was he after? "I have a Tiger Cub, mostly restored now, and an A10 which is complete, and I'm just browsing the stalls for spares. Although I need a cyclinder head for the Cub, if the price is right, I'll pay for parts and put them into 'stock'. If they're not needed when I sell the bike or move on, I'll just sell them on. There's always a market." Anne doesn't ride bikes but is a willing pillion.
