The bike is a 1997 Triumph T509 Speed Triple and Rob says: โ€œMy T509 Speed Triple has โ€˜fat barsโ€™, better brake pads, braided hoses, sticky tyres so I did a couple of track days at Cadwell Park to see how it went. In fact, it went well enough that I am now going to turn it into a race machine to compete in Bemsee Thunderbike Sport class for a few rounds. That will mean a fork internal upgrade, a race shock, lightweight wheels, decent exhaust, race bodywork and losing everything it doesnโ€™t need before the first race of the season.โ€

With part one of the story coming up in the April issue of CMM โ€“ weโ€™re now looking for help sourcing parts. Contact editor Bertie at: [email protected] if you want to be part of the exciting project.
