Akrapovic pipe dreams
By: Ben Wilkins
Exhaust manufacturer Akrapovic has announced plans to re-issue a series of previously discontinued systems for its 20th anniversary.
It’s Akrapovic’s 20th anniversary this year and to celebrate the company is bringing back some pipes that have long been discontinued for some iconic sports bikes. Systems now available include:
● CBR900 FireBlade 92-99
● ZX-7R/RR 1996>
● YZF 750
● FZR1000 EXUP 89-95
● 1000 Thunderace 1996>
● GSX-R1100 89-92
● 1200 Bandit 96-05
The company responsible for persuading Akrapovic to exclusively re-issue these systems is Performance Parts – but once they’re gone, they really are gone for good.
Prices will start for the GSX-R1100 at only £499, FireBlade and YZF750 at £525, with the Bandit and ZX-7 slightly more. Although there are limited numbers available, prices are low so that as many people as possible can buy one: original prices five years ago were £700-£950 depending upon model, so these new pipes offer great value for money.
