The Way We Were – Kawasaki GPz550 H2

Dave Palmer says he bought the LC you see here (below) after passing his test in 1982 on a Honda 250RS. He says: “The LC was one of my favourite bikes and like many I wish I still had it. The GPz was sold for a GPz600R. The LC pic was taken in 1983-4 , it had polished cases and clip-ons, note my green cords, cowboy boots and Alien lid, I was the height of fashion back then. NOT! The GPz550H2 UniTrack pic was from about 1984-5 and I had progressed to white baseball boots! This too was later subjected to clip ons. In those days you moved up the engine size/ peed scale, 250,350,550 etc. Both pics taken by my mate on a 110 camera with film! I’m now riding a 350 Goose, the one featured in Oct 2014 issue and ridden by your own Scoop!

Send us your nostalgic snaps of you back in the day with your steed! Either send to me at [email protected] or via our vibrant Facebook page. C’mon!
