It’s a 1986 GPZ900R A2 that I have owned for 21 years, originally classic red and grey but had been down the road on one side and was badly scraped. I saved it from being broken for spares and over the years it has evolved into what you see in the pics. The latest modifications completed recently are the 17-inch wheels with nice sticky BT016s fitted, later A8 complete front-end with the addition of GSX-R1000 six-pot calipers, modified top yoke and Renthal bars.

It has a ZZ-R1100 rear shock which is one-inch longer hence the higher back-end, rear disc is also ZZ-R, and rear caliper from later A8. It has a shortened straight-through stainless Micron four-into-on, K&N pod filters, a stage three Dynojet kit, four-degree ignition advancer, and a host of other bits and bobs. It also has lots of polished aluminium and of course the rather (ahem) discrete and tasteful colour scheme.

It makes your eyes and ears bleed in equal measure, so I consider that a good balance! Apart from the main paintwork everything is by my own fair hand, even down to fitting the tyres. People seem to like it, and it gets plenty of attention wherever I go.
