Greetings from Canada! I absolutely love your mag and Show Us Yours is one of my favourite sections. Here are my bike restorations which began with the lovely 1974 Kawasaki H2 which I bought for a steal back in 1986 from a pal who couldn’t handle its wild nature and rode it into a ditch at high speed.

He was okay, but the bike needed work. Young at the time (I am now 52) I knew just enough to get it roadworthy again. In 1989 I rode it from Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada to the Yukon Territories in nine days and 5200 miles for a new job. But in 1992 it got a total ground-up restoration and is my pride and joy and a daily commuter. Next was the lovely 1975 Suzuki A100. I rescued it from a guy who was using it as a bush commuter. After finding two more (both tattered, but with good bits) of the same colour, I was able to restore it in 1994. Next was the 1974 Kawasaki F11 dirt runner. It is running great, but is still a work in progress as you can see. The carb was totally tattered, so I took a carb from the H2 (I have a spare H2 boxed up), re-jetted it and it fitted perfectly. Next was the little 1976 Honda PK50 moped I bought from a family member. New tyres, brakes, oil change and a carb re-build was all it needed. It is my wife’s daily ride. Last up is the lovely little 1972 Honda CB100. This was a barn find.

Complete with rodent remnants, paint splatter and a big pile of rusted chrome. With a lot of scrubbing and soaking and thanks to eBay I was able to get most of the bits I needed to bring it to the beauty it is now. Just needs a clutch re-build for which I have the parts. My next project is a 1972 Yamaha DT250. But that will have to wait until I have the funds. My other ride is the 2006 Harley Davidson which I bought new. Keep up the great work. You have a fan for life.
