“I got the remains of the original engine with it, and rebuilt that one with all new bearings, TZ rods, YPVS pistons and a fettling of the ports. I stripped the bike down to the bare frame, which was then shotblasted and powder coated. All the aluminium was sent to Calledines Polishers in Bilsthorpe, who did a fantastic job. Finally, when I had saved enough cash, came a brand-new set of Gibson Allspeed pipes, which look and sound superb. I have built this bike to ride, not to show, and it’s fantastic to ride.”
