Show Us Yours: 1971 Suzuki T500R

Back on the road and looking great in Candy Lavender is Mark McKinney’s 1971 Suzuki T500R that’s just been restored with parts sourced from New Zealand, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, Australia, Canada and the USA.

“The Visa card got a real thrashing through eBay,” says Mark, from Christchurch, NZ, “and from this I encountered the ‘Rule of 100’ that dictates that all parts that are really needed cost $100 (US) or multiples thereof.

The Titan came together with help and advice from many quarters, including the guys from the Sundial board, members of the Classic Japanese Motorcycle Group in Christchurch and much patient tutoring from my mate, Terry.”
