The 1972 Honda 350-4 was never sold in Britain but Norman Rogers had been keeping his eyes peeled for one. He found it at a Newark Autojumble and tells Brian Crichton how much he likes it.

Honda’s miniature transverse four, the CB350F, never officially made it to Britain so Norman Rogers’ 1972 example can be one of only a handful in the country.

Die casting engineering Norman, from Wednesfield, West Midlands, bought his first Japanese bike just four years ago, a blue Honda 400-4, latest in a long line of bikes stretching back to 1956 aboard a 350 Matchless while in the army in Egypt.

Captivated by the jewel-like precision of the compact four he later discovered that a 350 version had earlier been built. He was immediately hooked on the idea of owning a 350-4 but never thought he would see one. None of his biking friends had heard of the CB350 and even his Honda dealer had to look up the records to check that it ever existed.

Then fate took a hand at the end-of-season Newark autojumble when he spotted the silver model he now possesses…”
