If you want to re-live the glory days of King Kenny Roberts and Yamaha, then this is the DVD for you.
Yamaha – World Champions mainly follows the amazing back-to-back-to-back 500cc treble of the American as he battled greats such as Barry Sheene, Giacomo Agostini and Randy Mamola. As well as Kenny’s 1978-1980 titles, it covers the 1977 season of the great Stevie Baker using four top-notch action films including some precious behind-the-scenes footage. Legendary circuits such as Spa, Silverstone, Assen and Le Mans are also featured in their original glory. While many will love the coverage of the classic Sheene vs Roberts scrap at Silverstone in the 500cc GP, we reckon the behind-the-action stuff is great, especially the contributions from crew-chief Kel Carruthers and the on-boards with Kenny himself.
