Remus Okami slip-on
By: Web Editor
No one likes a credit crunch, but it does make companies think about value, about making their products differently and, hopefully, more cheaply.
Take Remus. It took its high-spec Hexacone end-can and looked at ways of reducing the costs to make it more affordable. The carbon end cap and inlet cap were removed and changed to a composite end cap and brushed stainless inlet cap. The end result is the ‘OKAMI’, which is Japanese for ‘wolf’. It’s something that looks as expensive as the Hexacone but is actually £100 cheaper.
Fitments for modern classics include CBR600 Hondas from the late 1990s, 600 and 1200cc Bandits of similar vintage, SV650 twins, late 1990s Fazer Yams as well as R6 and R1s and Kawasaki’s ZX-9R and ZRX1100s.
Price: £300 (for 1998 YZF-R1 road-legal slip-on)
