Lucky draw

I had the good fortune 31 years ago to attend Night with the Stars in London with my four mates and our wives. I bought all of the tickets because I was the oldest in the ‘gang’, handed them out and in we went.
The ticket was a tombola-type affair and torn in half as you went through the door, as there was a raffle at the end of the evening for a brand new Kawasaki KH250.
My friends and I were standing on the dance floor in front of the stage when they called out the winning ticket number – it was mine!
I was gobsmacked, frozen to the spot. My mates picked me up off the floor, chucked me on stage to be shaken by the hand by Peter Williams of Norton fame and DLT (Dave Lee Travis) the DJ. I also met all the racing stars of the day that were up for awards.
Now three decades later, five stone heavier and going bald, I’m restoring
the KH250 – when it’s finished you’ll be the first to see the pictures.
