Hello... September 2011

Welcome to the September issue of CMM. You’ll see from the cover we’re absolutely chocked with bikes this month. First and foremost among them is Suzuki’s enigmatic Katana.

Hello... September 2011

Launched 30 years ago, the Katana was radical and fresh. That’s not to say it was universally loved. Of all motorcycles this is the one that was a Marmite motorcycle upon its launch. Thirty years on the styling manages to be futuristic and retro all at the same time. Turn to page 44 for more on the incredible Katana.

This month we have a new columnist joining CMM who is no stranger to the Katana, or any other big, air-cooled Suzuki for that matter. That man is Pip Higham, of drag racing and The Village Bike Shop fame. Pip has a great turn of phrase and a whole load of stories of tuning and racing in the 1980s to share with us.

Also this month we’re launching Classic Road Tests Revisited. This is a lovely new glossy magazine that’s a collection of our favourite MIRA Files from John Nutting.

The magazine covers 20 of the best bikes from 1969 to 1983 including the CB750, Z1-RTC, Jota, Z1, CB400 Four, GT750, GSX1100 and more. See page nine for
more details.

Anyway, Enjoy the mag.
