Some bikes are marked out as a future classic as soon as they’re launched. The Ducati Monster M900 was one of those machines. Raw, naked and pared to the bone, the bike simply oozed malevolence...

Okay, so for some it wasn’t that comfortable, or that practical but it was the very essence of what made a bike fun: just an engine, a frame, forks, a speedo and some wheels. Just add a sunny day and you’d have a smile a mile wide. Isn’t it amazing that it’s 20 years since we first saw one?

Time flies, in the classic world, which is what we’re looking at on page 12. Recent issues have prompted you to write in (we love hearing from you) with some feeling that only the older bikes can be true classics, with others getting all warm and nostalgic at the sight of bikes from the 1990s like ZZ-Rs, CBRs and FZRs.

What I will say is that this is your magazine and we want to reflect what you want. Keep the emails coming in and tell us what you want to see.

Have a good month!
