Never meet your heroes - unless they’re grounded ex-bike racers...

To illustrate: Niall Mackenzie showed a real interest to get his hands dirty with his very own Yamaha RD350LC project and he’s really doing the business - check out how far he’s got so far on page 98. He’s loving it and says he’s always sneaking away from wife Jan to spend an hour in the garage with his beloved LC. Sounds familiar?

We’re also fans of Steve ‘Stavros’ Parrish, and when he admitted that he wanted to restore a Superstock specification Yamaha FZ750, we had to have it in CMM. He bought the bike for a grand as we went to press and we promise you it’s worth subscribing for, if only for the daft racing stories recalled.

Everyone seems to be set with a project but me and it’s time to confess all: I’m rubbish with the spanners.

Can you help me? I want a project, but something that I can be shepherded with, by the likes of Steve, Scottie or Mark H. Something easy, something simple and something reliable. Answers on a postcard please...
